    Bruce has loved music, dance and other arts since he was very young. Now that many years has passed, his love of the arts has only grown. He received his Bachelor of Music degree with a Choral Emphasis from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. He has two spiritual music albums to his credit as a singer/songwriter/composer, as well as music direction, conducting, and teaching. He has been the Music Director for South Pacific, The Sound of Music, Snoopy, and others. He’s excited about this new project of his friend Scott whom he has known for over 20 years.

  • Lilyana Treece (Stage Manager & Assistant Director)

    Lilyana is currently pursuing an AAS in Technical Theatre Degree from the Community College of Denver. Her previous works include Reefer Madness, The Thanksgiving Play, and Elephant’s Graveyard. She would like to thank her family and friends for their support and she hopes that you all enjoy Ichabod!

  • Jason Vargas (Ichabod Crane)

    Jason has spent the last decade acting professionally, bringing his talent to a variety of different theatres and venues. Most notably, he’s spent the better part of the last 6 years working for Carnival Cruise Lines. Locally, he has made appearances at the late BDT stage, Candlelight Dinner Playhouse, and Littleton Town Hall Arts Center. He would like to thank Scott and all his cast mates for their support. He’s like to recognize his mother, who without her example and support, none of what he has accomplished would be possible.

  • Sara Michael (Katrina Van Tassel)

    Sara is thrilled to join this wonderful cast of Ichabod (and to add it to her collection of horror credits)! Some favorite past productions include Night of the Living Dead – Live on Stage, the Silence of the Lambs Parody Silence! The Musical, and Scary Kitty Sketch Show. When she’s not traipsing around Sleepy Hollow, Sara also sings and plays keytar with her band, The Bobbitts. Her more serious musical side is satisfied through leading the soprano section for Kantorei, where she also serves as Business Manager.

  • Shirene Agahi-Patterson (Matilda Brog)

    After several years devoted to balancing life and work as a high school choir and theatre teacher, Shirene is overjoyed to have returned to the stage! She was most recently seen as Chiara/Francesca (u/s) in The Bridges of Madison County (Platte Valley Theatre Arts), General Cartwright in Guys and Dolls (Vintage Theatre), and Antonia in Man of La Mancha (Ovation West). Shirene is thrilled to bring Matilda Brog to life in this very special performance and to continue building community within Denver’s incredibly talented theatre scene. She wants to offer immense admiration and gratitude to Scott Merchant and Bruce for their creative genius and for trusting her with this incredible show and character. Lastly, deepest thanks to her husband, Noah, for being her anchor and constant supporter; her mom, forever her biggest fan; and her amazing friends for their endless love and understanding when she so often has to say, “I can’t — I have rehearsal.”

    Luke is enjoying Ichabod. He’s been acting for years. Some of his previous shows have been Anything Goes, Frozen, and others.

  • Tate Rust (Brom)

    Tate has been acting and singing since he was ten. P.S. He and Luke are not really twins!

  • Eddie Schumacher (Father Harmful)

    Eddie is is very excited to be a part of Ichabod! Eddie has spent the last several years bringing to life Truman Capote in: The Wind Is Us, The Death That Killed Capote (NYC United Solo award; Best Actor) Favorite Denver credits; Belling in Candlelight Dinner Theatres Curtains; Fester: The Addams Family (Marlowe Award); Wonka: Willy Wonka; The Baker: Into the Woods; Andre in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Marlowe award); Appleby: Nightwatch; and Maury: Disaster the Musical. Favorite Chicago credits: Puck: A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Bellhop: Lend Me A Tenor; and Ellard: The Foreigner. He performed at the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival as Sam in Love The Radio Edit. Film/TV credits include “The Principal: Killer Witches from Outer Space;” “Man in Black: Ghosters;” Andy: “Colorado Lottery Fomomoolah;” Superhero Lawyer: Right lawyer; and Mover: ENT Credit Union with Bo Nix.

  • Austin Marcus Goodman (Mr. Grifter/Tarrytown Brat/Hollow Child)):

    Austin is incredibly excited to be making his professional acting debut as Mr. Grifter in Ichabod. Austin studied English and Literature in Texas before journeying to Denver to pursue a career in the arts. When they’re not acting, he can be found performing with the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus or in various drag shows and open mics around the city. They’d like to thank their dear friends, Sam and Nat, their friends and their twin for supporting him.

  • Aurelia Garcia (Mary Smith/Tarrytown Brat/Hollow Child)

    Aurelia is scarily ecstatic to be part of this wonderful production of Ichabod: The Musical. She is a sophomore at Lakewood High School and has been a part of numerous productions, such as Almost Maine. She’s also been in Honeymoon in Vegas and The Prom as a part of the Arvada Center’s Teen Intensive Program. She hopes you enjoy the show!

  • Amelia Hufnagel (Mary Smith/Tarrytown Brat/Hollow Child)

    Millie is a junior at Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy. She’s been acting since she was four, performing various roles … most notably Tilly in The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds (KCAA), Anne of Cleves in Queens (KCAA), Macbeth in Macbeth (KCAA), and various Shakespearean roles at UC Boulder. Professionally, she’s in improv with Some Assembly Required and has acted at Adams Mystery Playhouse. Millie thanks Scott, Sina, Marne, family, friends, fellow Ichabod actors, and many teachers for their support.

  • James Blanco (Clinton County Student/Tarrytown Brat/Hollow Child)

    James is excited to be involved with his first production, Ichabod. In his free time, he likes to draw, sing, write, and listen to music! He is super grateful to be apart of this new project and he hopes everyone enjoys it as much as he has!

  • Dana Ewing (Can Can-Cowboy Dancer/Lady)

    Dana is venturing into the musical theatre space for the first time! She is a longtime member and soloist with the Colorado Choir and a worship leader at her church in Arvada.

  • Bryn Harkins (Clinton County Student/Tarrytown Brat/Hollow Child)

    Bryn is so excited to be in the production of Ichabod. She is a young actor who is very passionate about theatre. Her other interests are singing, violin, lacrosse, and animals. She wants to thank her friends and family for always supporting her. Enjoy the show!

  • Harley Horgan (Tarrytown Brat - Sarah)/Hollow Child)

    Harley is thrilled to be part of Ichabod. Harley has been doing theater for nine years, and their previous roles include Juror #2 in 12 Angry Jurors, Alice in Matilda, and Mrs. White in Clue. This is their sixth show and fourth musical. They hope you enjoy the show!

  • Sam Hubbard (Tarrytown Brat - Henry/Hollow Child)

    Sam is so excited to be a part of the cast of Ichabod. They have been doing theatre for over 10 years and they are so happy working with Scott. In the past, they have played Officer Luckstuck in Urinetown, Victor Winslow in 13 Past Midnight, J Finch Fletchy in Puffs, and many more.

  • Jayden Hughes (Can Can-Cowboy Dancer/Townsman)

    Jayden is excited to be a part of the hauntingly hilarious Ichabod! His previous roles of Hades in The Lightning Thief and Plankton in The SpongeBob Musical have only reinforced his passion for acting as he takes on the role of a townsmen and Can Can/Cowboy dancer throughout this show. Jayden would love to thank Scott Merchant and Lilyana Treece for their support and encouragement as he navigates the challenges of a busy high school senior.

  • Chris Jensen (Clinton County Student/Tarrytown Brat/Hollow Child)

    Chris is is a dancer, a singer, and song writer. She is so excited to be in this musical!

    Louisa is seeking joy in life! Love to family and friends.

  • Tamra Matthews (Prudence)

    Tami is back onstage after a 30+ year hiatus. She’s been in various high school productions, including Cinderella, Bye Bye Birdie, and My Fair Lady. After studying under Charles Gordone at Texas A&M, she’s been volunteering for theatre and the arts for 20 years. She’d like to thank her family (especially Chris and Millie) and friends (especially Scott) for their support.

  • Cody McKibben (Tarrytown Brat/Hollow Child - William Hodge/Townsman)

    Cody is a young actor out of Lakewood, Colorado. He’s played many professional roles, including most recently as Freddie in Pygmalion. Other than Ichabod, he’s working on Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol with Elemental Theatre Company as the stage manager. He’s also part of a professional improv troupe called The Loose Screws. Cody has a passion for the arts and hopes you love this show as much as he does!

  • Laurie McKibben (Elizabeth Stewart)

    Laurie is a new actor out of Lakewood, Colorado. She’s involved in behind-the-scenes work as a dramaturg and a board member at Elemental Theatre Company. This is her first-ever musical and performance in general. She hopes this show is as magical for you as it has been and continues to be for her.

  • Mary Miller (Mary)

    Mary is thrilled to join the ensemble of Ichabod. Mary is a Colorado native and has worked with Scott for over ten years. Her work includes roles in The Kings Library, The Drowsy Chaperone, Enoche, and Young Frankenstein. Thank you to everyone for supporting the arts and actors.

  • Rachel Miner (Primrose)

    Rachel has sung with Sweet Adeline’s choruses for ten years. She works full time in a Lindamood-Bell learning center where she focuses on bringing the joy of literacy to struggling readers. She loves nature walks with her yellow Lab and snuggles with her two chinchillas.

  • Jason C. Palo La Costa (Costume Designer & Props Master)

    Jason is excited to help bring this original production to life! He was born in New Mexico, but he has lived in Colorado for over 20 years. His formal education is from CU Boulder College of Environmental Design and the Leads College of Business. He is an artist whose work has been exhibited at the Denver Art Museum, the Fine Arts Center in Colorado, and sold at the Colorado Capital Building. His love of costume making began with his family's love of Halloween and continued with his time as the drag queen Mama Freaka. Many of the props for the show are on loan from or purchased through his business, The Heirloom Factory, which he started after he realized he had collected so many interesting things that he should open a shop! It’s been a pleasure working with everyone on this musical!

  • Knox Phillips (Lead Deck Crew)

    Theater and performance are Knox's biggest passions. For over 10 years, he’s been reliable and dependable (both key traits), but he is also versatile. He’s done a range of work, part of the support crew (stage tech, camera man, and costumes) to a performer in many different forms! Anywhere he can find a way to help others, he will gladly go above and beyond to make the cast and crew safe and happy. Knox even provides a few laughs.

  • Chris Rose (Percussion/Band Director)

    Chris selected highlights of Chris’ 30-plus-year professional music career including performances with legends Wynton Marsalis, Ethan Iverson, Johnny Johnson, and Bo Diddley. Among his many current projects, he leads the Denver-based jazz group Ivory Jones Jazz Collective which in addition to playing local clubs, corporate events and performing concerts, hosts a weekly session at a Denver brewery that won Westword's “Best Weeknight Event” in 2014. Chris has played dozens of Broadway musicals and was drawn to this experience to compose all the percussion parts to Ichabod.

  • Ryan Smith (Carriage Jockey/Townsman)

    Ryan has always loved the theatre, music, and musicals. He has always wanted to be a part of the arts. Ryan is excited to be a part of this show and has had an amazing experience with everyone. He can’t wait to see what everyone thinks of the show, and he hopes everyone enjoys the show as much as he does.

  • Robert Stragnell (Bassist)

    Robert is originally from upstage New York, and has been playing bass for 25 years. Educated at the Hartt School, Robert has been a member of the Colorado music community for the last decade, playing across genres and time zones.

  • Quinlynn Witucki (Tarrytown Brat - Sarah/Hollow Child)

    Quin is thrilled to be part of this amazing production of Ichabod. She is a freshman at Compass Montessori High School. She’s participated in shows such as The Wizard of Oz, The Music Man, The Prom, and is a part of a professional improv troupe called Some Assembly Required. She would like to thank her parents for their support.
